Has anyone heard this rumor?? I think it sounds like total crap, but am wondering if this is a common misconception. A student in my Orgo class said that her advisor (from Case) told her it was harder because you have more time to study.

Even if that's true the average is still that same, right?

Anybody taken both administrations and can refute or support her statements?

The MCAT is a test that is used as an even gauge for all applicants. That is one reason for the administration of the test.

That being said, why would the August test be harder than the April test?

The answer to your question is No. The august test is NOT harder than the april test.

Whoever told you this doesn't know what they are talking about. According to what has already been said several times on this forum there are different forms (versions) of the test each time it is administered and some forms can be harder than others but they are all curved individually. Meaning that if you had a harder form then your curve will be a little more generous. If they aren't even the same difficulty when they are adminstered at the same time how can they be the same difficulty (how can you even compare) if they are administered differently? You can be rest assured that your score will be based on a fair grading scale that will give you a nationalized %ile of where you stand.
