Australian PM&R trainee move to the U.S?

Dear Docs,
I'm a rehabilitation medicine trainee in Australia keen to continue my training in the U.S. I need to know if I still should go to the pathway of ML exams or it is not a pre requisite for that to pass the USMLE.
I would appreciate if you could help me with those questions.

What's ML? Medical licensing? That's the same thing as the USMLE exams.
