The OMFS Program at University of Mississippi Medical Center is looking to fill a vacant PGY-3 residency position. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the current PGY-2 has left the program. A position is now open for a new resident to start on 7/1/2020 as a PGY-3 OMS resident. Starting date is flexible and can be earlier if the candidate is available.

University of Mississippi Medical Center

Residents / yr: 2 (4-yr OMS certificate)
Noncategorical interns / yr: 1
Attendings: 3
Fellows: 0
Accreditation: Fully accredited without reporting requirements ( Highest level)
Research requirement: Lit review, formal paper, or poster presentation
Hospitals to cover while on call: 1
Location: Jackson, MS

First years and non-categorical interns (3 total) are on service for an entire year and split primary call. Second year is off service rotation. Last 2 years are spent on OMS service. PGY-3 and PGY-4 split secondary call. Each upper level is assigned an attending’s service for 4 consecutive months.
Very broad exposure to full scope of OMS training. Plenty of dentoalveolar, implants, orthognathics, cosmetics, TMJ, trauma, sleep apnea, alveolar clefts, malignant and benign ablative surgery.

A very friendly and education oriented atmosphere. All the residents get along well with each other as well as with the faculty. Jackson has a desirable cost of living and is short drive to New Orleans, Memphis and the Gulf Coast. Please direct any specific questions to Hayley Everitt at [email protected].

Requirements:
Must have completed at least a PGY-2 year at an ACGME accredited program and be eligible for PGY3 position. Please send the following:
- Updated Curriculum Vitae and Resident surgical log if available
- Dental School Transcript and Diploma.
- Recommendation letter from the current program director
- List of rotations completed in residency training

The position is no longer available
