Interviews?....

Are you sure knowing this really helps anyone? From what I've seen so far everyone is above average. Plus, you know, there is more to it than just your scores. Sure it is a major part of it but it's not everything.

For one thing... A 3.5 GPA in a biology major is not the same as a 3.5 GPA in engineering or physics. Sorry if I offended anyone but you know they take this into account.

Plus, your age is important. I would think that those who are on a second career would get greater consideration because older students tend to be at the top of the class and they are more likely to finish the program, i.e. they know what they want.

I know it helped me to see others grades when I was looking into schools so thats why I posted them, but I also have been working as an Opt Tech for over a year, do tons of volunteer work with Prevent Blindness NC, Governor Morehead's School for the Blind, etc. Just to help others out, this stuff gave me lots to talk about in my interview and was just great experience confirming my decision to become an optometrist.

I would have to disagree with your statment that a major in engineering or physics is more difficult or even looked at as more difficult. I am also not saying this just becuase i am a biology major. i certainly respect people who dive into the field of physics or engineering but i would not say that they are any more difficult then biology or chemistry. Truly you are comparing oranges to apples here. Both fields are very difficult and both fields also require completely different cognitive approaches. i find it hard for you to argue that biology and physics approach problems from the same point of view and in the same mind set. Aside from the mind set it also depends on the people you learn from. i come from a insitution that has nobel prize winning biology professors who force you to bring your performance up to the next level and at some schools the physics cirriculum is not the same. i pretty much dont think you could compare the two and make such a black and white statement.

Why do you insist on interjecting in a thread not tailored to you? People intrinsically like scores, grades, numbers...you're gone and past that. Do you have any real facts to back up your statements about bio and engineering and physics?
