Average post-doc salaries?

My friend was asking about this (for either a research or research-clinical position), and I told her I thought they were about 30-35K. Does anyone know if this is accurate? Thanks!
 
Most job ads will specify salary, do a little internet searching to see what the going rate is. That sounds about right to me though.
 
NIH sets a pay scale that a lot of research fellowshps will follow... but with that said, not every research postdoc will be offered the NIH rate. On the other hand, I know of people who made significantly more than the NIH rate.

A first year postdoc is considered a "Year 0" postdoc.
