Just started checking this place out in the past few months, realized I'm definitely not up to par on the stats I need for the career I desire. Thought I would still chance myself to see just exactly where I stand for a possible acceptance. Please be honest!

MCAT 10 8 10 28Q composite

3.3 cGPA and sGPA

only 44 hours shadowing PA, worked as pharmacy technician for 1 year (~1000 hours)

LORs from PA, 2 science Profs

Michigan Resident, male, ORM

EDIT: Also, I would like to note that I am graduating this May with a degree in Biology from a state university

Virtually no solid ECs to claim, other than local volunteering at local charity for 10 hours at my university town. Basically worked several odd jobs through my college career to keep myself afloat, pharmacy technician was the only job of any kind of medical importance.

I am concerned that my lack of patient contact in a hospital setting cripples my chances, as well as the fact that my shadowing hours and ECs are definitely lacking. Between working and schoolwork I never managed to secure myself anything that could make me stand out on paper (regrettably, and to my obvious detriment). However, I wish to still know where I stand if I were to apply (broadly) on June 1st? Should I take a year off to beef up my ECs and shadowing/hospital experience, or could I possibly stand a chance somewhere for this rotation?

I sincerely thank you for your time and honest input.

You have to have an LOR from a MD/DO... Shadow one so you can get an LOR from him/her... I suggest that you find a volunteering position in a clinical setting and try to rack up at least 75 hours before submitting your application. This is ( or should be) the easiest part of the application process. If you do those stuff, you should have a decent chance getting in somewhere.
