average time one getting in to dental school

I hope this is new topic but anyway I was wondering how much time one takes for getting in to dental school ,I know it varies .please post how many years you took for getting admission ? what do you think is 3 yrs/2yrs/1yr is long or short time to get in to dental school. Any input will be greatly appreciated.
