Anyone know how to set up an away rotation in Israel as a 4th year elective (coming from US allo school)? Do I contact the hospital dept. or do I go through the schools (Hebrew U., TA univ. etc)?

Thanks!

You can contact the office of the Ben-Gurion University Medical School for International Health at Columbia, I know we take Columbia students a lot, but I am not sure about outside of that,

here is the website

www.MSIHmd.org

and the person you want to speak with is Alice Mahoney, the number is on there somewhere

Thanks so much Izzy,

BG students/grads rock (I've worked with a few residents in Boston).
I'm looking for Jerusalem/TA rotations though (pref Jerusalem).

I'd say, you should try to first contact one of the American medical programs there (Sackler, Technion or BGU). I can speak for Sackler in that I know they have reciprocity in away electives with several US allo schools. You also need to decide on what hospital/location. All the major Tel Aviv hospitals are under the jurisdiction of Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University, for example. I knew of a University of Michigan School of Medicine 4th year doing a 1-month away elective in ophthalmology at Beilinson Hospital just last month.
