Away rotation necessary if home institution doesn't have an OB/GYN residency?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I think doing an away is a good idea. I imagine you have a sense of what residency will be like, but I think it's beneficial to have exposure to an OBGYN residency program, perhaps even more than one as a bonus.

I think that would be a good idea - you need to see what training is like. Private practice is drastically different than academic medicine and training for this field. (OBGYN PGY-4)
