I had been accepted to a spot for an away in July at a school that blanket-sent all accepted candidates an email saying away rotations are currently postponed/might be canceled? Spoke to a doc at my home institution and they said many schools are holding off any visiting students for about 3 months (which makes sense perfectly). But I was wondering if prime away rotation time (July/August) will also be affected? Any insights or info from your med schools?

Dude....
Literally everybody wants to know that and nobody has the answers.
Nobody here, nobody in admin, nobody in goverment. Nobody.
If there's a crystal ball somewhere, maybe that would help, but short of that, we just have to wait and see.
If it's any consolation, we're all in the same boat, so if it's affecting you, rest assured it's affecting everybody else and won't be held against you personally.

I agree with that. True. The only thing that I was thinking of doing in a situation like this was applying for aways potentially for the September blocks (which I don't really want to do, but if July is gonna get canceled, Aug+Sept can be my two aways). The downside is It's all up in the air and I don't want to apply for aways, get the position and then have to decline. Not even sure whether being proactive here is beneficial.

No body knows.

Edit: people don’t even know if they are going to be able to complete medical school required stuff for graduation. Let alone away stuff.

10 days. Wait 10 days and then reevaluate.

In 10 days Italy went from exactly where we are now, with 2000 cases, to 18000+ cases, full country quarantine, and graduating 10000 med students early to fill the gap.
Edit: As of today, Italy has >31k cases

If aways even matter in 10 days, you can worry about them then. Or in a month. Or whenever we have some semblence of normalcy again.
For now, go do whatever bs alternative assignment your school gave to make up for pulling you off clinicals and stop putting more speculative posts up here that nobody can actually speak to.
