I am just a MS1 and maybe this is too far off to think about now but I was just curious. If one wants to do a few away rotations to increase chances of matching how do you plan for the away rotations when your electives are your MS4. By the time you can do a few aways it seems that most interviewing will be underway or even over.
can someone please enlighten me.

You need to do the aways before interviewing. If your schedule doesn't allow that, then you won't have the opportunity. Most students have at least one elective block in the Fall of MS4.
