Hi I am 3rd year med student at an average med school. I am interested in doing cardiology and, thus, it would be smart for me to go to a good IM program. Unfortunately, though, my application is as follows:
Step 1: 211, no AOA, a couple of publications, and mostly honors and HP on clerkships so far. Is going to a 1st tier IM program out the window? Or should I continue seeking this by scheduling an away rotation at a program I would like to go to?

if u really want cardiology..i doubt u need to go to a top 10 program in IM in the country....just work with what you have and make the most of it....make connections....do cardio research, do a chief year, and always smile and look cute....that should work
