For any med students in upstate New York State medical schools like SUNY Buffalo, SUNY Upstate, Rochester, Albany, are you able to get rotations during med school years 3 and 4 in NYC metropolitan area hospitals? Reason I ask is that if you want to match for residency in NYC area after graduation from med school, how important is it to do clinicals/rotations in the NYC area while in an upstate area med school? How easy or difficult is it to obtain a “far away” rotation clinical experience?
