Anyone have any advice on how many aways to apply for? I've got 4 in right now and it seems like most programs don't start to review until April 1 from the looks of it on VSAS. Is there any strategy involved here? I'm applying to a competitive specialty so I feel worried about only having 4 in right now, but on the flip side they say to not apply to too many because if you get multiple acceptances and have to turn down it might hurt you at that institution when applying for residency.
Should I stick with 4ish for now and wait to see if I start getting rejected before applying to more? Or should I apply to more right now?
