Word is that they only sent out a handful of acceptances.
I at first didn't believe this, but when I look at the acceptance/matriculant ratio from last year, I think it makes sense.
Here's my take (OPINION only): it seems the committee *really* chooses to give applicants acceptances who they believe are a good fit and committed to the program. This means that nearly everybody who gets an acceptance will come here.
I think they gave out ~85 acceptances last year for 54 spots, which is practically an unheard of ratio. Most schools would at LEAST give out triple the amount of seats to ensure a full class.
But in any event, I'm guessing that AZ will continue to trickle out the acceptances from this point out.

Ya, I contacted AZ and they told me that I didn't make it in this batch. 🙄
hm.. I called very early today but the lady said that Az will send out the package soon. She didn't even ask for my name. I guess I have to wait then.
Same here, I called at exactly 8am this morning. I asked for the status of my application, and the only thing I was asked was if my application was pre-interview or post-interview. She then told me that the staff had just got back from the holidays and that I should check back or wait for something in the mail.
Should I call back tommorrow or will I just irritate them?

They honestly only sent out 10-12 acceptances yesterday, so they probably don't have a status to tell you.
Staff are doing interviews all morning today, so calling probably won't be much of a help.
I'm sure you will all hear something sooner than later. Just because you haven't heard DOESN'T mean bad news. They haven't decided about a lot of students yet.
