I recently posted a thread asking people's opion about my chances of getting accepted to AZCOM based on my scores, exp., etc.....Many of the replies suggested that since i have received an interview the adcom likes me on paper and wants to see I and my personality is a 'good fit' their program. I would like to ask any of those peopel who have been accepted to AZCOM if they could answer my question of what type of personality are the adcoms people looking for?

Thanks!!

Why don't you just be yourself. If you cater toward what they want, then you would be acting right? Good luck anyhoot.

Indeed. I don't think they're looking for a specific personality. Just be yourself and be confident in who you are. Don't sweat the interview too much, they are very nice and very conversational. Just be yourself. Good luck! :luck: 👍

I was a student interviewer on the panel interviewing the AZCOM prospects for this next year. There are 3 interviewers (usually a faculty member, a 3rd or 4th year student and a local DO) and each has to rate each candidate numerically on several categories and also make written comments about the person's preparedness, critical thinking ability, etc. These scores & comments are then turned into the admissions office and a final score is reached with the interview scores, grades, mcat, etc. Admissions letters of acceptance or not are then sent out. The long and short of it is that no one is looking for a specific personality type, but articulate anwers that show reasoning behind them are a definite plus. Also I have to say that all of the interviewers have been impressed by the qualifications and overall preparedness of the candidates for the 2009 class. Good luck!

I recently interviewed and was accepted by AZCOM. The person above made the interview sound complicated and intense. I felt the interview was very conversational, and friendly. Just be comfortable when you go into the interview and don't be intimidated. As mentioned by somebody above, if you have been invited they like something about you, or else you wouldn't be there! Try and have a good time!

Good luck...I'm sure you'll do fine! They really do a lot to make you comfortable there!

I have a suggestion that will truly help you get into AZCOM. STOP CALLING IT ADCOM!!!!!

uh, adcom = admissions committee. heh.
