Yes! Got a wolf, wish I stuck to my guns on that one with raf... I don't like the Abnerrs vote, but I can understand where you're coming from. Especially that comment from raf about her being helpful. Sorry Raf, you are apparently too good a villager to be a wolf lol.
 
Also STL was not a wolf. But neutral serial killer, wow. Good call LIS I think it was you who was suspicious of him first.
 
Checking-in today and offering some comments:

@Abnerrs I don’t know you or your WW playing style at all. Although a few players have mentioned that you seem to be playing in the same way that you have played in other WW games, your playing style seems to be distracting, fluffy and vague. You cast lynch votes for raf on D1 and D2, but without saying much about raf or why you wanted to lynch raf. Maybe you had your own good reasons, besides mentioning that you had some type of “feeling,” but I don’t know.

Before raf was lynched last night, Raf also defended you and was perfectly willing to post a few comments that seemed helpful to you on the surface (as pointed out by WZ on D2 when WZ mentioned that wolves can appear to be helpful on the surface). Today, @DVMDream has already brought up the same wolf-type strategy when DVMD said “wolves often vote for fellow wolves even early on.”

Don’t know what to think about you. You’re either a joking villager or a wolf who may have participated in some type of conversation with raf during a night cycle. Care to say anything more?

Like some other players, I’m also wondering about the post cited below because it seems to imply that you and raf participated in some type of conversation to which the rest of us were not present:

Don't know why raf would conclude that you were a “helpful villager” unless raf was conversing with you outside of this game. We have been told a night cycle is available to wolves only, and not to villagers. So, I'm wondering if you have anything more to say about this topic, and not just a one-liner or a vague joke. Care to add anything?

Dude. Seriously, your guess is as good as mine. I have already said I thought the comment was weird and could that I'd like to see the posts that were overly "helpful". And yeah. Her posts in the beginning were flip flopping and just the kind of vague that perked my ears. That's it. That's all I can give ya.
 
Honestly kinda bummed about STL. Neutrals are fun, he's fun. And game is going to take a long time with vig and a second killer out of commission.
 
Well, now I feel stupid for trusting STL. He was so certain about Jil that I figured he had evidence that she was a wolf 🙁.

Guess I'll spend today reviewing her comments without STL bias in mind.

This is dumb and feels weird. He brought her up d1, what evidence would he have?

I am actually more suspicious of jilary after the lynch than before. Raf could've voted for jilary for self-preservation since the votes were so close but then voted for cyndia instead. Anybody else have any thoughts on this?

Multiple ways to look at that, depending on his win condition. In any case, being wolf-killed makes me think he was more village-aligned, at least in the perception of the wolves, if not by game design.
 
@Trilt you’re sounding like a villager to me.

My reason: yesterday, Trilt challenged and confronted STL (who totally wanted to lynch Jil) and Trilt was also adamant about lynching raf. She seems to be very familiar with different WW game roles and with different WW game strategies; plus she has been offering comments that seem to make sense in this game. Well, they do to me, at least. So, right now, I'm inclined to think Trilt is a villager for those reasons.

@DVMDream seemed to be very certain that raf was a wolf and she voted to lynch raf yesterday. DVMD is still suspicious of Abnerrs for the same reasons that some other players are also questioning Abnerrs (e.g., the posts made by raf about Abnerrs being a "helpful villager" and that Abnerrs was helping raf "figuring out strategy" in this game).

I, too, am questioning Abnerrs for the same reasons. If Abnerrs thinks that raf was trying to throw shade at her or frame her in this game by posting the "helpful villager" comment, I would have thought Abnerrs would be more involved in this game. It might be helpful to mention that raf did not try to defend Abnerrs after posting the Abnerrs is a "helpful villager/figuring out strategy" comment a few days ago. So, I don't know if raf realized raf had blurted something out about Abnerrs (that should have been kept a secret between raf and Abnerrs in a private conversation and couldn't be taken back by raf) or if raf didn't care anyway because raf was a wolf in this game.

If he were inherently (by game design) wolf vs. village leaning I would have hoped it would be included in his role on death. Maybe not though.

In any case I'm inclined to basically analyze him as village in retrospect. Might be wrong but whatev.
 
Can we maybe chill on the listing of people you think are village? Name of the game is figuring out wolves.

While I'm coo with all y'all thinking I'm not sketchy for once in my damn life, I also basically feel myself moving up on the wolves' list every time I see my name down.

I didn't mean that he was wolf-aligned by game design. Mafia-style serial killer (per wiki) has a win condition of last man standing, rather than "alive at game end." My uneducated guess is that "alive at game end" is a win condition that allows for a more village-aligned play style than last man standing does.
 
Wow! Interesting developments and yay for catching a wolf yesterday! I'm curious now as to why we only had one death on N1. Was it the wolves who did not kill, or was it the serial killer who did not kill?

This is going on the assumed knowledge (from playing flash mafia games earlier in my life) that serial killers can kill every night.

What does that mean?

Don’t see how those types of distracting, irrelevant, and non-committal comments help any of us to find wolves in this game. Care to say more @finnickthedog?

Maybe I'm wrong, but those types of comments don't seem helpful ... well, at least not to me. Instead, it seems as if you are posting a few short and non-committal comments each day, that's all. So far, you have not posted a total of 12 short comments since D1 and now, we're on D3. None of your posts are particularly substantive. Pretty minimal posting at this point in the game. Just saying.

I'm also inclined to question you for another reason: you have already played in many WW games before this Basic game. You have a lot of WW game-playing experience. For that reason, I don't think you would be the type of WW player who would be inclined to make careless, fluffy, or inattentive mistakes in this Basic game. Instead, I would think you would want to help us find wolves in this game. So, I'm wondering about your role in this game. Right now, I'm inclined to think you're a wolf or some other type of non-villager.

Gotcha. Yeah, not sure. I'm on mobile and it's a pain to search but might be worth poking around MU and see if there's a common use of it. I feel like neutral implies winning with either side but all sorts of variations are fair game I suppose.
 
1. On D1, SkiOtter voted to lynch cdo (and cdo was a villager-vigilante with 2 shots).

2. On D2, Ski voted to lynch Cyndia (who has been practically non-existent on this WW thread for the past 2 days).

3. On D2, both SkiOtter and raf voted to lynch Cyndia (and Cyndia did not post a single comment on D2). Raf was a wolf and was lynched on D2.

It seems as if raf's and Ski's votes were safe "throw away" votes on Cyndia (who hasn't been posting many comments in this game, for whatever reason; and from what everyone has told me, real-life absences don't matter in WW games). For all I know, @Cyndia might be a wolf or some other type of a non-villager and I'd like to hear anything from her in this game. Any thoughts or comments?

Right now, I am curious about Ski's voting pattern for the past 2 days because Ski's throw-away voting pattern does not "feel" right to me. Any thoughts or comments @SkiOtter?
 
Lynch Zen

Has contributed basically nothing to the thread, I didn't like that post earlier today. She's someone I never get a good read on so why not.

Easy lynch today would be Jil and would give us some good information tbh, but I want us to consider others first.
 
I wasn't expecting a neutral player. I had only read some village and mafia roles on the mafia wiki, hadn't even looked at that one.

I wouldn't be surprised if STL decided not to kill someone day 1 considering the sketchiness of his lynch vote. Also, I am not sure that he would necessarily be aligned one way or the other this early in the game.

If it is the wolves who killed STL, I was thinking either Jil's a wolf and they are just trying to confuse us or she's a villager and they are trying to frame her. Leaning toward option 1 but option 2 is definitely something that happened several times in the noob game I played in.

It's a balancing act. You have to play somewhat village aligned so you don't get lynched but you can't be too good or the wolves will kill you. This early in the game the last man standing thing wouldn't even have mattered. Since he was designated neutral I'm inclined to think his win condition was more along the lines of living to the end though.

More likely STL decided not to kill I would think, if he could kill every night.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. It could just be she didn't check the thread as most of the votes for her were in the last 2 hours. But if she was paying attention she would have switched an take down a villager instead with a random tiebreaker? Unless Jil is a wolf with an ability then it would be better to just take out the no ability wolf. If Jil is a wolf it will give us more info to work with too.

I said it slow so it isn't missed this time lol. I'm as invested as much a silly Internet game is warranted in my opinion (sorry dy! I am having fun and playing "seriously"! Love you long time). I'm not going to post a long ass post because I'm not going to spend that kind of time. I'm going to watch people and see how they make me feel and vote the way I think best. And in the process I'm going to have fun and be silly because that's who I am. Not anal retentive.

However. If I'm such a DISTRACTION (OMG wave your hands in the air! Aaaaaaaahhhhhh) then go ahead and lynch me because you'll be down someone without an ability and be less distracted to boot.
 
I think I like the Zen lynch, because Zen is experienced and smart. He should have a lot of strategy instead of tips for how to make your vote seen. Barring defense:

I'm a bit confused by this statement... Why would you be wolf killed if raf voted for you kind of last minute yesterday and then ended up wolf?

TBH, I'm more concerned why you haven't been mod-killed if anything. You had 3 posts on the first two days of the game and they were more fluff than content.

Fwiw, Dy will generally mod kill wolves if they don't do what they need to posting wise. So don't assume that her not being dead makes her sketch.

Trilt and I are in different camps.

I'm a little bummed about STL because he does add a lot of flavor and thinking to the game. I think Nyanko wasn't headed for mislynch in the near future, but would have late in game just due to play style, so I agree with Trilt on that.

But I live by the "you're either villager or you should be lynched" mantra. Neutrals may not be wolves, but they aren't villagers, they play for their own win condition, and they don't count for villager numbers - so you should kill them. 99% of the time.

I'm trying to decide how STL would have played neutral .... I can't really recollect any neutral metagame info on him (like if he tends to play villager-strong as a neutral, or plays truly for his own win, or ....). It could influence my thinking about his strong approach to Jilary.
 
Piggy backing on other comments above (I'd quote but on mobile). Lack of two kills the first night could be any of the first options mentioned already or could be that Lyra managed to jail the wolf doing the killing n1 and STL offed Lyra. Not saying this is the most likely scenario, but a possibility.

Granted we have no idea who Lyra targeted so probably useless to speculate on but something to consider.

Why would you think he had evidence? Not only because of what Trilt mentioned (him going after her D1), but after that whole long discussion about her "tell"..... that <was> his evidence.

The real question is: What was STL's game as a neutral. If his win condition was "be alive at end of game" I can see him playing for a village win, and he might really think Jilary is a wolf. I'm still tempted to vote for her, but I have to go back and read everything involving raf.

I agree; Zensing's comment is weird.

Like I said yesterday, I kept my vote on cdo because after her role reveal, there was some doubt on whether a day vigilante would even be a thing in a basics game or not and they weren't sure if she had just copied a role from the last game (where there was a 2-shot night vig) and changed night to day to avoid any conflicts.
And with Cyndia, I also explained this to you yesterday. I voted for her because her posts have been nothing but fluff and she hasn't met the general post requirement, for now 2 days. Yeah, she said she was going to be at a conference all weekend, but that to me is not an excuse since the day cycles are 36 hours long and not 12, so she SHOULD be able to find some time to be able to post her thoughts and concerns about people. Raf MAY have voted this way too yesterday, but she voted for cyndia <2 hours until lynch close, whereas I voted for her a whole day before.
I didn't switch to raf or jil yesterday because I didn't have much on either of them besides that raf seemed a bit sketchy and wishy-washy and that stl thought jil was a wolf. I kept my vote on Cyndia because I thought, and still do, think she's sketchy.

I think its annoying and, quite frankly, odd and a bit sketchy that you have brought this up again today when I gave you my reasoning for my votes yesterday.
 
Also, bummer STL. I am glad though that my sketchometer was reading you as something not quite right.

Not sure how to feel about his thoughts on Jil though. Could have been trying to help village or could've been totally random. I'm confused about the night kill of ny though. If he truly thought Jil was a wolf and wanted to help village, why wouldn't he kill her? Killing STL does make the logical choice to lynch jil but WHAT IF THAT'S WHAT THEY WANT US TO THINK??!? Wifom. Might just sit on it for now.

I don't really agree with this. I understand your thinking.

But I think there is value in establishing who is more/less trusted, especially in a game like this where hard info is relatively minimal. It's not like anyone is saying "You've been seered and are definitely village!"

I know it is useful for me to see who other people are hard village vs neutral vs hard wolf, or somewhere in between. Helps me re-assess my own list when I've got someone hard village (like you... hehehe, sorry, had to) and then someone else comes in and says "that person is wolfy," for example.

Too many options to know for sure.

1) STL could kill a limited number of times or every-other-day
2) STL was blocked for some reason
3) STL opted not to kill because he's a high-profile player and some of us tend to get seered, tracked, blocked, shang-hai'd, moved, given items, had items stolen, dunked in a vat of boiling water, lasered, tasered, and otherwise messed with on N1. So he might have wanted to avoid getting caught killing until he could get a better feel for PRs in the game.

My guess is #1 and it was EOD killing even nights, but....
