Most medical schools use Certiphi, but you can't run a Certiphi on yourself until after you submit your primary.

You can run yourself via the FBI. There's a small fee and you have to mail in a finger print card.

Not sure if this applies to all states, but the Pennsylvanian state website offers a background check from the PA records for $10 (without the hassle of having to send in finger prints). You might want to check your state website to see if they offer a similar service. $10 is a small price to pay for peace of mind 🙂.

I concur with this sentiment. Even though I paid like $100+ for my CBC.

Yup, the actual Certiphi CBC. I paid for it. Didn't care.
