How far back are we supposed to include in this? I've lived in at least 6 or 7 places and states since birth - some for only a few months or a yr. We can't remember the addresses for a couple or exact dates for many. Do I go back to birth? Teen years? Good grief!

I only listed addresses back to 2012 and my background check came back no problem in less than one day.

i listed 3 addresses and my permanent address. i didn't want to list every dorm and sublet i had through college. still was approved in less than a day

They are looking at registries and criminal records in the counties where you've lived. And, there are only a handful (6?)of spots for addresses.

If you've filled in all the places you've lived since you started creating a paper trail for yourself (hence the credit report suggestion) or where you potentially have a record (mid-teens?) I would think that should meet the need. Mine filled in all the spots, took me to '97...but I was an adult then, so it definitely counted.

They also cross-check what you provide against addresses that come back for you in their search - so they'll see if you left off anything important. As long as you are as honest as possible, given them enough locations that their queries are accurate (all counties/regions you've lived), they'll be able to provide a robust and accurate background check. All the dorms/sublets in college won't really change their search for you in that county/region.
