I have really crumby credit (bad credit card debt), is this a big problem in securing a residency? Anyone know about the background checks. How extensive are they, is it just criminal stuff? Ever come up during interview process or pre-employment? Thanks.

it can be tough. Depends if they really have interest to searh about you or not. Do you have criminal record? Anything like that? 😱 If you do I don't think so they can take you. 🙁

I can see a program performing a criminal backround check, but I don't know how common or legal that is. I sincerely doubt that they do a credit check.
