If a med school finds out on a background check that of their students has an arrest incident for 'petty theft', but was not convicted for that crime (adjudication withheld), would this be grounds for adverse action against that student?

I thought you had to put in your AMCAS if you've ever been convicted of anything. I assume it shouldn't be a big deal if you haven't been convicted....but then again, i can't say
I am not sure what that dribble is above me but a non-conviction is a non-conviction.
Otherwise I know three guys from Duke whose background check would say arrested for rape but not convicted. Should that be held against them? of course not.
