I see that many hospitals are requiring a criminal background check these days. How do I go about getting this ball rollling?
thanks,

I think most hospitals will depend upon the school or program to do them. I'm not sure they would accept one that you had ordered.

I know at a few of my interviews they mentioned that they do background checks. I assume they pay for it and take care of it.

I interviewed at York. The program director came in after the usual presentation and added that if anybody had a criminal record that they did not list on their application they might as well leave now.

He seemed pretty serious about it. Obviously they have been burned in the past.

I loved York, by the way.

Im sure.. you cant hide that bs..

your program will do it.

My question is how often does something actually turn up? I would expect that if you passed the check to get into medical school, and didnt have any criminal activity significant enough to be mentioned in your dean's letter/get you kicked outta school, what is there to know? I realize these things must turn something up once in a while. For you folks senior to me, how often does this happen?
