What's the most common cause of bacterial meningitis in adults?
UWorld had a question about a 44 yr old male with a bacterial meningitis (which you can tell from the CSF). Uworld believes he has S. pneumo because S. pneumo is the MCC of bacterial meningitis in adults of all ages. FA does not agree (pg177 of 2011).

What the hell! 😡

On pg. 145 FA says it's the leading cause of meningitis (it doesn't specify adult, but I'm assuming adult because it specifies child for otitis media).

Clinical micro made ridiculously simple ed. 3 also says S. pneumo.
