Oh god, the troll only gets stronger the more you feed her. Speaking of patronizing, you also need to get off your high horse Dentalhopeful. Pretend you didn't create a throw-away account just to say this on a forum and go back to what you were doing...Keep it moving (or just leave SDN entirely).

Bro, you're like obviously being bitter and it's like totally obvious.

Come on guys, lets stick together; we're all on the same SDN team. Lets redirect our energy at the OP, if she comes back.

I'm waiting for the doc toothache bad advice spreadsheet. It should clear this up.

I think he was actually mocking the OP by his use of "like obviously" etc.

I never said it was groundbreaking...anyone who is unsure about pursuing dentistry is more than likely naive to the process. So my comment is not for the seasoned applicant. Your comment is moot. I am not going to take the time to call out people line by line to address everyone. I am ignoring the ignorant posts that are boarderline bullying. It's funny to me that some of you say my advice is so horrid, yet you make it your business to keep reporting the same comments you made over and over again as if that's going to change my opinion. This is great for me. The more you comment the more publicity you bring to my post. My message is out there. Le sigh...I love it. Thanks guys. Enjoy beating a dead horse and going in circles with your tired comments. Ciao!

RHarrow get lost. I have no high horse. Just a proud daughter. Sorry you are a hater. Hater's gonna hate. Enjoy that.

Nondescript you are steadily on my thread and trying to poke the bear. Don't you have a life you should be living instead of patrolling my every comment? Clearly not. Have fun hating and an wallowing in your own bittnerness. Ugh I do not like when people use the word "classy". It's tacky.

You know what I see here? I see someone who really wanted to make a positive statement and genuinely cares about trying to make people a little more optimistic. Honestly, I see where the OP was going with this. However, I think that the implementation is where it lost momentum. The fact is that getting into college is tough, but getting into any of the medical professions is even tougher. Most on here are not going to hide that, nor sugar coat it. I feel for you, OP, because I have been at the mercy of poorly worded and/or understood posts myself. The best you can do is just say "sorry, I never meant it that way" and "I see your point, I will do my best to consider it". Do not push back unless you can do so with grace and have facts to back them up with. Remember arguing on the internet is useless and all it does is tarnish your internet image (which can be uncannily long lived). I hope the best in your posts. 👍 🙂

Thats because you are CLASSY without the C and L.

What bear? All you've done is run around in circles and dodge any sort of legitimate argument to your post.

We accept backed up accusations with open arms. Pep talk is nice but many of us are jaded through the application process and a few of us are too candid without giving any constructive advice. Most of us do give honest, constructive advice (more like opinion sometimes).

Thanks Bereno! I just don't see how I came off as "on a high horse"? When that is not my intent or personality. I think it's sad that the post has come to this and instead of people politely asking for clarification they attack me. How is that appropriate? Anyway, thanks again for your comments. The grate thing about the Internet. You can become whoever you want to be. Literally...

Shazamm-Because you or anyone else who doesn't approach me in a respectful manner isn't worth my time. Why so aggressive? I don't even know you. Calm down.

I'm sorry Bereno, I have to disagree with some parts of your argument. I see a new kid in the class who comes in and has to show how 'smart' they are by tearing down other people with false comments, and then can't take the heat when asked to defend it. And she has too much pride to apologize so instead she went on the attack, calling me an "ass".

I know her intention were well but she went at it completely wrong. And that is a fact we all see.

Can you not literally become whoever you want? JP

You never did provide me with those recent threads giving mostly bad advice now did you?

Weren't you the one who started hurling labels? It's right there at the start of the thread. I'm genuinely convinced you're either trolling or completely bat**** crazy.

What fox? And nondescriptive something is wrong with you. You are not referenced in my OP so why the heck do you care so much. Take a seat. It's just silly what you are doing and not in a good way.

I think you just agreed with what I said lol. I feel you. That is why I mentioned that I think this post lost its momentum in the implementation. It was exactly that - poorly implemented.

You used something that is not all that credible to be taken as credible. You then said how many people on here give bad advice, but then you filled your post with advice. I understand why you did this, and commend it. Its just that I think you were a little naive, and now you are less so. I mean the best by this. 😉

Shazamm- last time I checked your name was no mentioned in the OP. Take a seat as well sir/ma'am. My post was geared to a specific group. If you do not give bad advice then why are you here bashing my post? Again, these are the select few people I am talking about. Getting on a thread and just attacking. Move along if you don't like what you see.

Bereno- yeah maybe I was naive? I guess? But I don't make the Internet forums my life. I don't live and die by the code bc I just don't care enough to know. Thanks though...

You must love raising your hand in class. Next time, don't make up nonsense and pawn it off as a revelation, or regurgitate facts others have written.

No worries. Don't let this get to you. 👍 🙂

Non, please. You are an aggressive and angry person. How small of you to bash someone via internet and think that It's "putting me in my place". Who are you to try to control what I do and how I do it? I will show some receipts because this is ridiculous. You have a response for everything I say. Calm down. Seriously, it's sad watching it. You just make yourself look silly. So obvious you need the last word to make yourself feel "accomplished and good". SMH

Bizarre. Don't you see that you're doing that same exact thing?

Okay DentalHopeful13, I think it's your turn to "take a seat". Your insight at the beginning of this thread may have been useful to some, but your subsequent comments have only diminished your credibility. You have good ideas, so for your own sake, just stop responding while you're ahead. There's definitely no need to say things like, "But I don't make the Internet forums my life. I don't live and die by the code bc I just don't care enough to know", especially to a major forum contributor like Bereno.

Osteotomy...read my status. How am I suppose to know. Stop jumping in where your nose doesn't belong. My subsequent comments are defending my post and not letting some Internet bullies try to back me into a corner. Bereno made a good point. Enough said and thank you.

I encourage you to not just fade away into oblivion once you get accepted. You've said there is bad advice here. Fine. And you've given some general pointers and encouragement. The next step it to be a graceful contributor. The good info on here didn't magically appear.

Osteotomy...read my status. How am I suppose to know.

As a frequent browser of this site I am shocked and appalled with some of the advice/comments that I read--especially the response comments made to students with a low DAT score or GPA.

What's the point Jeffity if I will be bashed. Not interested in entertaining cucolds.

Without reading what is likely mostly nonsense in this thread, I want to add my point of view on what SDN is for an applicant.

If you follow the advice given by DAT forum members, you will perform to your full potential on the DAT. You will not waste money on crappy resources.

If you follow the advice given by forum memebers on what schools to apply to, you will apply to schools that you have a good shot at and not waste money on schools.

If you follow the advice given by forum members about your personal statement, you will knock the PS out of the park.

If you follow the advice given by forum members about when/how to apply, you will apply early enough to get serious consideration from schools.

If you follow the advice given by forum members on interviewing skills/techniques/questions you will be well prepared for your interviews.

If you follow the advice given by forum members on selecting a school you will make a well informed decision with perspective that is unavailable from those in your real life that aren't familiar with the implications of choosing a school.

Basically, what I am trying to say is that I followed advice given by good forum members in all aspects of applying to dental school and I found myself accepted to more schools that I have fingers to count them.

Without SDN I can honestly say I would have scored 2-3 pts lower on my DAT, applied late, applied to the wrong schools, had an average PS and been lucky to squeeze out an acceptance or two.

Overall, if you have even a little common sense you can weed through the BS and use SDN for the valuable resource it is.

I guess the point is to act and do something about it if you don't like it. Don't call people out or get into arguments. Just offer insight and legit knowledge and move on. That's more powerful. I'm not here to toot my own horn, just suggesting that there's a better approach. People tend to leave you alone that way. Whatever your path, good luck on your journey!

If you follow the advice given by the forum members, you will not waste time with prehealth committee advisers.

If you follow the advice given by the forum members, you will not waste money on Kaplan tutoring.

If you follow through with advice given by forum members, you'll have a better chance at getting into dental school than if you didn't have their advice.

If you follow the advice in the interview question section, you will be leagues ahead of others who do not use this awesome resource.

If you carefully understand the seriousness of taking out high interest loans and consider the advice of forum members who are dentists concerning the choice of a school, you'll most likely choose to attend the most affordable school.
