My wife recently had an epidural while giving birth to our first child but she complained that shortly after the orignal relief, maybe 30 mins after first getting it, that her right lower leg went completely numb while the rest of her lower half experienced a much smaller amount of pain relief. Her leg stayed numb for hours after giving birth but was given a couple of more shots throughout the rest of labor for the pain on her left side and upper right pelvic area.

I am just wondering if this is a normal occurance/ or variation or if it was placed badly or what?

Thanks in advance.

FYI- I am clearly NOT asking for medical ADVICE. Just thought someone with knowledge could share their thoughts. Thanks again.
