Have any of you had bad experience(s) w/ a postdoc or research associate? I graduated and working in a small lab for about 3 months now w/ just me and a senior research associate. Everyday, he just sits on his butts, staring at the computer screen, replying to emails or do some other mundane tasks that are usually not related to our research. Day by day, he sits on his comfy chair and tells me what to do, while I already have "my jobs" to take care of. When my PI tells him to do something; he usually shove it to me. When my PI asks him to come up w/ experiments; he ended up asking me.
I'm planning to apply for med school this summer, so I'll have about a little more than a year left working w/ this guy. Should I just suck it up? Or should I confront him? Or should I talk to my PI?
