Im a freshmen in college and I just found out I got a F in general chem 1 and a F in calculus. I now have a 2.5 GPA. I want to major in biomedical engineering and so in order to get into the program they suggest I take general chem 1/2, physics 1/2, calculus 1/2, and orgo 1/2 by the end of my sophomore year. At this rate ill be in college for 5-6 years, which is looked down upon in my family. On top of that I want to go to med school and I see no chance of getting into med school, not even the top 4 in the caribbeans. idk what im doing, i guess im just venting or need some advice.

Hey I hope that you sit down and think about things before making any harsh decisions. This is your first year in college, it's natural that you're still getting used to it. Take this experience as a chance to grow, you will learn from your mistakes.

From now on try to get good grades and show an upward trend, don't worry if you take 5 or 6 years in college, don't rush yourself. There's time in life for everything. I hope this message helps a bit. Good luck.

Are you going to city college for biomed engineering?
Their chemistry have more physics aspect in there, and i think their chemistry is call chemistry for engineers.

Anyways, another 5-6 years isnt so bad, your still young, as long you get to your goal, that's all that matters. Just retake the Calc and chem, you still have hope.
