bad interview experience

i need a shoulder to cry on. 🙁 had a bad interview experience at my frist choice school. i'm so very afraid to request another interview. what if the admissions comm. thinks i'm whining? has any1 here requested a second interview?

which med school was it? i had a good friend interview at a NJ school, and her interviewer was horrible. saying mean things, like we don't take people like you, etc. needless to say she was super upset about it. this was a few weeks ago and she got accepted this week. unfortunately it left a sour taste in her mouth, and would not consider that school anymore. i recommend asking for a second interview, and informing the adcom about the situation. they need to know when their interviewers mistreat people. but don't let it get you down, i hear stories like this alllllll the time.

yes! it was at njms. i went in thinking the school is great (excellent clincial experience). I still feel that way, but like your friend, i've got the sour taste in my mouth.

the interviewer (maybe it was the same lady?) made me feel a bit on the dumb side. my mcat scores and gpa are strong, and during other interviewes, interviewers always made a note of them.

i'm glad your friend got in though. this makes me feel as though i still have a chance. 🙂

do u remember the name of the lady that interviewed you?

it could just be nothing... some of those people like to mess with people. if your GPA and mcat scores are strong, i would see no reason why you shouldnt get in

I had a very bad interview experience at a relatively low-ranked in-state school. I have written a letter and will be sending it to the admissions office...I had higher expectations for the school and the kinds of experiences it could offer me despite having another state school that is considered more highly. So much for that...there is NO WAY I would ever attend the school after the comments and values of the interviewer and how I was treated by him. I think it is awful that interviewers think they can treat applicants so poorly and that the process is so competitive and intimidating that it often feels like there is nothing you can do to tell the school they should evaluate these people without seeming like a whining pre-med kid.
