Has anyone ever heard of an interview where the school totally messed up the applicants file?
As in there was information for two applicants in one file and the majority of the interview ended up being about seperating the information as to what was the right information.
The questions that had been prepared for the interview were actually for things that the other person in the file had done.
Has anyone ever heard of this happening?

It happened last year at WVU

ouch, my heart seriously hurts for you... how frustrating!

😱

Actually since I am applying there again I was thinking of calling before my interview to verify that my file was correct before I get there.
And I was just wondering if it has happened to anyone else.

Heh...you would essentially be calling there to tell them that they are a bunch of idiots and that you expect them to get their act together before you show up...although it may be a valid point, it probably isn't a point that would be beneficial to you to make.

What's the big deal anyway? So what if you didn't get to talk about your application? You may have had a better experience because you and your interviewer shared a unique event together. I'm sure you conversed with the interviewer and were able to fulfill the purpose of the interview - to let the school know that you are a living, breathing human being. If not, then you may have wasted a special oppurtunity. I might actually wish for something like this to happen to me.
