Anyone ever had issues with a bad letter of evaluation. Long story short.... My boss is a POS and wrote two lines that pretty much say the same thing. That's it. Not even a legit paragraph. (He's a dentist I might add). I have three more (in my opinion) that are going to be very well written and a more accurate representation of who I am. My question is how bad does something like this hurt an applicant? For those who may have had a similar experience. Thank for any input.

God that is so douchey. Is the damage already done or can you prevent him from submitting it? Definitely don't let him submit that if he hasn't yet.

If he already has, I think the adcoms will realize this guy was a tool and give your other letters more consideration, especially if the rest of your application is good.

Douchy is the correct word. Damage is done unfortunately 🙁. Worked for him as an assistant for two years. This was supposed to be "the letter" that showed my abilities. He even said he was going to write that he would hire me as an associate upon graduation because having a "job" before even being accepted to school would really impress Adcoms. Then I get a two line response that I am pretty sure he let his 4 yr old write.

I was wondering the same thing. I have a letter from a dentist which is strong, but very short (5-6 sentences). Is this ok?

Better than mine! Hopefully since it is a strong one you won't have to worry.

Jees, what a jack ass. I'm so sorry. Did.he show you the LOE? How did you find out it was so crappy?

Our office manager showed me AFTER it was submitted. Asked me what I thought. I said its too short and needs more substance. Her reply was "that's all they asked of us". I don't know who "they" is that she speaks of... It's been a very frustrating day. Lol

Geez, Hopefully adcoms turn a blind eye, however unlikely it maybe. But man you have a douchebag for a boss and a bitch for a manager. Tough gag there.

At least they let you read it. I had to go through a committee and they don't tell you how you did or let you see your letter. Fun stuff.

wow, that's rough. Hopefully the schools won't take that one too seriously if the others are good letters.
