I'm applying this summer, so I don't know if this is risky or not. I'm at that point where I just don't see the benefit of giving myself more stress over the capstone project required for seniors in the Honors College. I will be taking 6 courses next semester, (Phys I, Phys I lab, Physiology, Biochem, another bio lab and an english course), so I obviously need time to make sure I don't ruin my GPA - which I consider much more important than the Honors title. Would this raise a red flag to adcom?

I withdrew from my school's honors program because it was so much extra work for little to no payoff. No one ever asked me about it, and I got accepted this cycle.

Doubt it really matters-- how does your school's honors college work? Is there a designation on your transcript regarding which semesters you were in the college?

Same here. Honors program was too much work, so I dropped it sophomore year, got accepted this cycle
