Hello everyone,

I just submitted a couple of secondaries a few days ago in a rush to turn them over as quickly as possible. At the time when I read them, they seemed solid to me but now that I read over them with a more clear and alert mind, they are all over the place and messy. There isn't grammar mistakes but many of my essays seem scattered and don't flow well.

For example trying to write what I would contribute to X school, I just talked about all my cultural experiences and in the end awkwardly added in two - three sentences about how I would bring diversity. I am so worried now that these will severely hinder my chances.

Has anyone gotten interviews with rather poor secondary essays? I am so upset at myself for rushing over them and am freaking out!

Don't worry over what you can't change. Secondaries are one piece of the application, not the whole thing. You can't change anything now, so just sit tight.

And don't look at things you've already submitted.

I cannot +1 what the above poster said enough - DO NOT REREAD SUBMITTED SECONDARIES

There is literally nothing you can do about them and it will just cause you unnecessary stress (like when I found out I forgot the l in "public" to make my sentence sound a little more perverted than intended). Until you get an interview invite, just kick back, relax, and enjoy your flight.

Honestly, all application related essays sound terrible when you read them after submission. It's a weird effect, all of my essays sound like crap to me now.
