Really? You're going down 0.05... you're still at a 3.8 which is basically a 3.9 There's nothing to talk about! You should punish yourself with some community service or join a research lab!

Long story short, I've put off random gen-eds I had to take. Took them all in one semester, a bunch of religion, philosophy, art classes. My gpa is probably going to go down a decent amount (.05). Should I explain this in my apps? S.gpa - 3.9xx C-gpa 3.9xx will be ~3.9 to high 3.8 after this semester if things go wrong

NO!. Explanations always come off like excuses.

I think your transcript will explain it pretty well. Any other explanation/excuse is just going to make you look desperate or neurotic.
