So everyone has spoken pretty loudly that Barrons book is pretty bad except for the PAT. My question is is it horrible because the practice tests are often wrong and it doesn't cover enough material OR will reading it actually throw me off?

Some of the general chemistry has helped me in addition to the Kaplan book. The biology seemed straight forward and if nothing else was a supplimental read. Havent gotten to the organic chemistry

I find this funny because this was the only book I used when I first took the test between my junior and senior year and I did well enough to where I thought I didn't have to take the DAT again. I'm now retaking it 3 years later cause I'm ready to apply now and I want to get in for certain. Either my classes helped me score well the first time or I didn't catch the mistakes in Barrons the first time.

Anyone able to tell me what specificly to stay away from if I continue to read this? More than just throw it in the trash please

Throw in the trash? No way! Recycle, recycle, recyle  (or my favorite, line your birdcage with it)

The book isn't too bad. It's just the information presented is very basic and you don't want to depend on this book as your only source. It's hard to imagine that you can condense 5 different subjects into a book so small. If you use the Barrons book, make sure you use other textbooks to supplement the information. 🙂

Ok, his advice is WAY better - but after you do that, then you can recycle! 🙂

It's full of errors........what more do you need? stay away from it except for the PAT section. ERRORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
