I just got accepted to Barry's 1 yr biomedical sciences program for fall 09. I've heard that there is no on-campus housing available. Anybody looking for a roomate? Any people from the area with suggestions where to live?

you don't really want to live too close to the campus. let's just say it's not the safest area. north miami/aventura is nicer and about 10-15 mins away. there are places in hollywood near I-95 as well.

there are lots of shady characters on the bus in that area. I'm guessing you haven't visited Barry yet. the education is great but the location is subpar. the campus itself is well kept and pretty clean. i have a feeling you're male but if you were female, i'd def. not recommend staying near school. studying late and then walking home can be treacherous. if you are male, you may want to rent a room in a house near school. that'll probably be your best bet. if you decide to live a little farther, maybe you can buy a moped?

I was accepted to their one year program as well, but I am still trying to decide what I am going to do. I know that the area is definitely spotty but coming form a few friends I have down there, there are a lot of safe neighborhoods as well that are 10-15 minutes from campus.

wow. thanks for the safety tip. i'm a female and i definitely don't want to live around campus now. !

I have notes/books/old exams if anyone is interested in buying them.

Over the past 25 years, 78% of the graduates from Barry's biomedical sciences program have been accepted to medical and dental schools. In 2008, 72 out of 78 of our graduates (92%) were accepted to medical or dental school for the fall 2009 semester. We have a long history of preparing students for medical / dental schools.

Hey...I am going to Barry University's 1-Year Masters Program as well. Any specific suggestions on where to live? I haven't been in that area and am not familiar with it at all. Also, does anyone know the price ranges that the housing can cost in that area?
