I just want to clarify something because I did not understand the vocabulary in this question when I was taking the test.

The question asks:

Item 131

In Experiment 2, which three groups demonstrated cell line viability and allowed the determination of basal cellular activities?

The cell lines are the cells that they are growing in the medium... and basal cellular activities refer to basic metabolism without the addition of extra proteins or cell signals, right?

I am just trying to get my vocabulary down for test day!

Tricky way of asking "which three groups served as the control groups?" for the exact explanation you indicate. Once you figure out that's what they are asking, it is a very easy question. That was a weird one that stuck with me.
