Hello SDN Family!

I wanted to kindly ask what battery ya'll recommend for my loupes. I had lost my Orascoptic Endeavour XL and to replace it would cost $525 and for the regular Endeavour would cost $350. If you mean a whole new light system, I’m pretty satisfied with Lumadent. My class did a group buy and we got a great discount (I bought the 2 battery pack version so that I always have a spare).

I did have to recently replace a few parts in the mounting system of the light because they cracked after 2 years of usage.

Lumadent shipped me new parts within 10 days for the cost of just the shipping.

I am reviving this thread because I have a similar problem. I lost my Orascoptic Endeavour battery, and I would like to buy a replacement, but I'm not going to pay $500 when I can buy a lamp+light system on Amazon for $20. Is it possible to use a different "off-brand" battery with this lamp? Could anyone share a link? Looks like some sort of TRS cable for the lamp.

Similar problem. What did you end up doing? Did you find a battery that's compatible with oroscoptic light?

To hell with Orascopic and their overpriced batteries. I decided to finish dental school using the overhead chair lamps. I’m off to surgery next year, so I will be fine without it.

It's honestly a scam and I refuse to buy from them. The only reason I have an oroscoptic set is because it was through my school and I had no choice. It's unfortunate that the dental industry allowed them to drive up the price to what it is. I still question if their batteries are even fair trade and not involved in some child labor cobalt mining company.

Lumadent light and battery. No question about it. I have the corded battery pack (got the 2-pack so I have a back up). Battery lasts 4-5 days on a single charge. I have four of their batteries right now, 2 that are 4 years old and 2 that are 2 years old. I've never had a problem with any of them.

I've tried out the cordless, liked it, but you lose a significant amount of working time - I think they last 8-10 hours if I remember right.

I just checked ebay. There is a bunch of replacement parts there. You may find something to help with your problem
