Help! I'm in a wedding next week and I need to get mini medals. I couldn't find any mini medals for the Battle "E" at the uniform shop? Is there not a medal for that one? Do I wear the ribbon on the opposite side? Do I just not wear it?

Help, salty dogs, help

There is no "E" medal. It exists as a ribbon only.

Here's the applicable portion of the Uniform Reg's:

5313. RIBBONS WITH MEDALS

1. Manner of Wearing. Wear both large medals and ribbons that do not have corresponding large medals on Full Dress Uniforms. Center ribbons on the right breast in the same relative position as the holding bar of the lowest row of medals. Arrange ribbons in order of precedence in rows from top down and inboard to outboard. Wear either the senior ribbon or all ribbons. These ribbons include: Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Commendation, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy "E", Navy Fleet Marine Force Ribbon, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Foreign Unit Awards, Marksmanship, etc. Personnel awarded only ribbons that do not have corresponding large medals shall wear the ribbons on the right side as mentioned above.

2. Do not wear ribbons on uniforms requiring miniature medals.

So, since you're going mini-medals then no ribbons.

Awesome. I looked and looked for this.

No problem. It's a pain trying to find things sometimes. The best way I've found is to go to the Uniform Reg's website and then get to the page that has the pictures of all the different types of uniforms:

http://www.npc.navy.mil/CommandSupport/USNavyUniforms/UniformRegulations/Chapter3/MaleOfficer/

and then from there click on the one I want. Once you get there it gives direct links to the various required, prescribable, and optional uniform components. Otherwise it's pure luck!
