This question came up on the Pre-Allopathic thread, but I wanted to pose it here to get the MD/PhD crowd's opinion on the matter, especially since there are several successful Baylor MSTP applicants who might read this.
On the Baylor MD secondary application, there is only one essay question, and it's one of those "unique circumstances or special experiences" essays:
"Indicate any special experiences, unusual factors or other information which you feel would be helpful in evaluating you. 2000 character limit."
Normally, such questions are specifically targeted toward individuals who have had to overcome significant obstacles in order to get to where they are in life. Is that how we're supposed to interpret this essay prompt? I'm wary of leaving it blank since it's the only essay on the secondary application, but I don't want to answer it if it was meant as an obstacle-oriented question.
Thanks!
