Hey folks,
My overall GPA from 1999 bachelor's in business is 3.4 and 3.5 in science courses. Since it has been over 5 years, I am retaking Bio Chem and Phys. Will the old GPA still have a negative impact when I appy?

A 3.4 overall, and a 3.5 science is a great GPA for application to most Dental Schools! Unless you are very particular about where you would like to go, your GPA with an above average DAT score will put you in a good position to be accepted.

Your old GPA is fine. If you did any kind of search (on SDN or at the dental school website) you would see you are above or at the average GPA of most dental school acceptances. I am sure others in SDN wont be very kind when they see someone with a 3.5 in sciences wondering if it will "have a negative impact." 😎

That is a relief. I guess I am getting a little nervous ever since I talked to a real negative person (an advisor!) recently who made me feel like I like I am at a deadend.

I'd say that advisor is full of crap!

I agree, your advisor is full of crap...I know a few people who have got in as BBA's...one I know for sure had a 3.3 and much lower science...just rock the DAT and you'll be fine!
