BCACP experience

Hi all,

Did anyone here take BCACP last year? I am organizing a small study group so any thoughts, tips, etc would be appreciated. The ACCP book seems to focus on therapeutics - which is great for review - but I have heard from others that there is a lot of non-therapeutics tested as well. The book does cover some biostats, clinical trial design, regulatory issues, but does anyone have suggestions on other references?

I`m interested in BCACP 2012 ..... I `ve the ACCP materials ...and yes it focus too much on therapeutics . biostats and trials seems to be quite good in ACCP book ,
but other non therapeutics parts like management and patient advocacy need another source.
for me in managemnt i have the book of pharmacy management ,essentials for all practice settings . it seems helpful ,
but for me as non US practitioner ..I`ll need your help for regulatory issues sources , if you please .
so it will be fine if we keep posting here for updates and you may consider me as online member in your study group .

I am planning to give BCACP .........looking for ACCP material if you want to share the material i am in pharmD program and i have current and recent Powerpoint lectures on many of the advance diseases and can share with you through e-mail, it is a great resource if you want to understand practical concepts........i dont want to buy the ACCP this year because i am not sure ifi will be able to give the exam in OCT 2012 but definitely will buy the stuff in 2013 and share with you at that time if you interested.....so let me know if you want to share ACCP material, i can be a part of the group and share some concepts

If you are currently in a PharmD program you are at least 2 years away from being eligible to take this exam (see link below). I think the ACCP materials are quite good whenever you start studying.

Hello...Can anyone tell me what is the difference between BCPS exam and ambulatory one?! I can find both nearly the same?!!!!!!!!!!!

They do have many areas that overlap. The percentage of questions focused on each domain within the exam differs. The pharmacotherapy topics in BCACP will be all out-patient focused, whereas BCPS will have both in-patient, acute management and out-patient management.

Has anyone done the review course offered by APhA/ASH? I am planning to take the BCACP exam this year and I am trying to decide between going to the ACCP live meeting versus the APhA meeting. Both meetings provide review courses for the exam.

I'm in the same situation but also considering a 3rd scenario - purchasing the study guide and .mp3s that will be made available later in the year.

Interested in hearing peoples thoughts on this.

Also, if anyone has 2012 study guide and .mp3s I'm interested in purchasing to get a head-start.
