not sure about astronomy. I think neuroscience does count.

I'm not in the app. process yet, so can I ask if psychology counts? Thanks.

no, psychology doesn't. neuroscience would only count if it were listed under a "science"-type category. for example, i took a neurobiology course that was listed under zoology, and this counted for BCPM GPA. I took a different class titled brain and behavior which was listed under psychology, and it didn't.

For neuro-classes you want to check their cross-listings. A lot of them are cross-listed under psychology as well as under a biology or neuro course heading. And it's a shame when it doesn't count for science, neuro has a lot more science than a "science" course.

yay!!! thanks so much 🙂

Yes and Yes. Make sure your neuroscience class is cross listed with a science department and not solely listed in the PSYC dept. If so, you are out of luck. BCMP includes all science and math courses you have taken, including environmental science and astronomy.

One other note:

If you pad your gpa with too many courses of questionably difficulty it won't impress medicals schools.

Remember: everyone has 4.0s.

Coops

The neuroscience course is known as one of the hardest courses at my univ, and the astronomy course isn't a cakewalk either, so I don't think it's "padding," I was just wondering if it was counted, that's all, but thanks!

I took psychopharmacology and it is listed under the psychology department. It has thus far counted as a science course to every school I have applied...i think thus it may just depend on the course.

oh yeah......i also took an astronomy course that I listed as science, and no school has said anything about it yet...so i'm guessing it might count.
