Every year, annual fee for board maintenance for nothing.
You have to pay to recert plus all these education modules that are specific or material to take the BCPS recert exam.
Even if you fail the recertification exam, you still have to pay the annual maintenance fee in addition to the recertification fee.
What a rip off.

No. You have to do BPS approved CE or you have to take the recert exam. However, most of the exam review courses are about as expensive as the CE.

I just got it last year. Hopefully I won't need it in 7 years

Make sure you take the CE credit if you plan to keep it. The exam is so painful to study for. You can't just take all the CEs in one year because there's a limit to how much they'll accept.
