When I took the test last year and this year, both times I felt I bombed it, so many random questions that I had no clue on. When I talk about this with friends that also took the test, they said it was a good sign, you studied enough to realize you were answering questions wrong. I passed both.

So what does that mean if you felt you did well, you didn't know enough to realize you were answering wrong. ...haha... kidding. ... Most people pass. .. That is unless you get your results released on Tuesday. ..uh oh....😳
at least one person I read the post on thought he did well after the test. and when he saw the score, he scored fairly high and did do well. for me, I know the ones that I thought I did well in, I know I answered correctly. because I didn't have to guess on those question. and I really didn't have to guess on too many questions this year. It was almost as though the questions that were on the test, it was the ones that I studied or ones that I just knew from working as clinical pharmacist in the hospital for so long.

The whole thing seems screwy. You would think Castle would just post them all at once. That's why I wanted to get my log in working. I will check it every 10 mintues starting at 0001 monday, haha!. I doubt BPS will tell them who they are emailing on monday and who they are emailing on Tuesday and have them wait to post it. And why wouldn't they email all at once? That seems screwy too. Unless they will wait until like 12:01 AM of tuesday, which is still Monday in some time zones. I need to just quit thinking about it. Seriously, why can't I just wait two days?!?!?!?! This is worse than waiting to give birth.

You know i thought they may release passing grades on mondy and fail on tuesday. We wil get ours monday dont worry

If all the scores are ready to go and to be released, why would they release the passing grades on Monday and fail on Tuesday. That makes no sense. they have no reason to do that since this year all the scores are being released via email.

How do you know all the scores are ready. Maybe only the passing scores are ready, nobody who failed saw their score early. Why do you think they are releasing it over 2 days....hahaha...😉

So do you think they will email at midnight (if it's all pre-set), or 0800 when they get in the office. Or 1700 right before they leave? Hmmmmmmm.......I wonder if the bps staff read this and are enjoying our torture.

Bps does read this site and the only reason they pulled the scores until monday was to change Janiceps's score to pass cause they don't want a lawsuit... they got bronchitis, ain't nobody got time for that.

so think about this for a second. why would they set the computers to release it at midnight ? that makes no sense. they obviously have some things they still have to do with the scores. I expect them to release it after they into the office. after 9 am.

Haha... I'm a go get me a col pop while I'm waiting for my results.

You are not invited to my party after I get the pass score. and think about what you are saying about what your friend told you. what he saids makes no sense. because you know you think you bombed and know you missed so many, that is a good sign. That is really short sighted. You know you did well by knowing what you got right and have a good idea of how many you are getting right on the test. That is how it works, not the other way around

 So, at the beginning someone mentioned that the postings were lacking. Who would have thought that we would end up having a bazillion postings? Hey moolman, please stop antagonizing Janiceps. 😒 However, I've enjoyed reading you guys' postings. Thanks for making me laugh. :biglaugh:

Yeah, it's a good sign when you think you bombed it, you know enough that you know the questions you got wrong and the questions you got right. Most people that pass will get a lot wrong and since you studied, you know you got a lot wrong. Those that think they did well, were just too dumb to realize all the mistakes they made....😛

I'd like to be added to a CE group.
Did you see the score Friday ? did you have passing score ? I hope you passed, I know you studied a lot and you deserve to pass. I think I passed too, just waiting for the confirmation. for some reason, there were a lot of questions that I just knew the answers to. I do a lot of clinical work and I think that does help.

Hey Janice which test next??
I am so happy for you, you deserve it. I still have to wait til tomorrow or Tuesday to find out. but I do plan on taking the specialty board right away in April. BCOP is next for me. I am going to PM you. I had a question for you.

Yeah, I passed, their standards are pretty low. I'm a bit slow and dim witted and I still managed to squeak by. I'm just glad I did because I would have to join the brewing lawsuit against bps.

Yeeeeah, right! I don't think you are stupid. You passed both exams! :notworthy:

I'm a bit slow, too. Join the club!:heckyeah: I still study almost every day and I graduated 14 years ago! :wacky:

Your the one that's worked ICU. Why would you take BCOP? Just wondering

What do you think they are doing ? Its a one click order ... Actually , being an electronic test did not add any advantage.

There was a small advantage for me in that I only had to drive an hour for an electronic testing site versus 4 hours to a larger city for a paper test. But that's about it.

I spoke to a representative at Castle. He said they are sending emails in batches. He was unable to specify what time I'd receive the email other than "sometime today".

Mine, too! I just signed in and it actually let me view my score! Well, I took the BCACP, not BCPS. I PASSED! YAY! 675! :soexcited: I thought for sure the chapters that I skipped would cause me to flunk the exam. I'll know not to skip the chapters on policies and procedures and humanistic outcomes in the future.

I passed - scored a 584 - but have no idea how good or not that is????

not bad for not really studying until 5 days out

do they tell you your percentile anywhere? Not that it really matters- but I am competitive and like to see where I rank!! lol

Grats to everyone who passed! Yay!

FYI I was able to save a pdf copy of my results last Friday when they were 'accidentally released' and compared it with the result that was posted today; they are identical. So for those of you passed last week but can't access your scores today; don't worry, you still passed!

However, the results still contained no breakdown of scores by domain, no stats on the % of individuals who passed, etc... just your score number and a spiel on how a formal certificate/lapel pin will be mailed to you within 60 days. Lame.

I guess I'll have to resort to stalking the BPS press release (http://www.bpsweb.org/news/pressreleases.cfm) for their annual announcement of results for the exams; but that won't be posted until Feb 2014. Double-lame.

Which test did you take ? BCPS or BCOP ? You said you guessed on 60-70 % of the test. were you surprised that you passed ?

I took the BCOP for the first time this year and I did guess on ~60% of the exam. Specifically, I was able to narrow down ~60% of the questions to 2 answers and had to pick the "best one", so the odds of getting them right were 50-50 at that point. For the remainder of the exam (~40%), I knew the questions had a clear-cut/obvious answer. There was also a handful of oddball questions, where I had to basically "eeny, meeny, miny, moe" them.

I think a small part of the reason why I had to 50-50 so many questions is due to the fact that I left clinical/direct-patient practice a year ago. So for some questions, I had to try and think what/how situations were handled in the past; and some memories/recalls are, quite frankly, fuzzy and blurry 😒

I wouldn't say I'm completely surprised that I passed; the first time I took the BCPS, I thought I completely failed, too; especially after the second part of the exam 😱 only to end up passing it with flying colors anyway.

But I'd have to agree with @moolman on this; personally looking in retrospect, I tend to do worse on exams when I think I've done well, simply due to the fact that I didn't know enough to realize what I was answering wrongly. For me, this habit has gone way back... since high school 😎
