I feel the same way! I thought I studied, but felt I guessed on over half the test. I guess we will see!!

yea I felt like it was pretty bad, outdated questions and some stuff that just didnt make any sense...want the results already, altho I know all the guidelines and everything...not sure what else I could have done..

Yes I do have 2014 mock exam with 2013 ACCP pdf / MP3 / MP4 material. it's the same material as the 2014, except guidelines changes

Hey Everyone,
I am planning on taking the BCACP exam in Spring 2015. I spoke to BPS and they stated that the current 2014 study material is what the Spring-time exam is based off of and it "refreshes" every fall (hope I made sense). I wanted to ask all you fellow pharmers out there:
- What books/resources did you use or recommend purchasing?
- Any timeline or study plan that you followed?
- For the people that already took the exam- any tips on what to do/not do?

I sincerely appreciate any and all help and owe you a coffee if I ever see you outside of Cyberspace!

I doubt results can be expected until after XGiving at the earliest, likely first week of December if they continue to follow the same reporting timeline.

"Results from the Fall 2014 BPS examinations will be available to candidates by Wednesday, November 19, 2014. Candidates will receive an email from our test administrator, Castle Worldwide, with instructions for logging into the Castle Score Report Portal to retrieve their scores."

I'll tell you next week if my strategy worked or not. Definite advice now, learn the stats.

I, too, took the fall 14 BCPS exam and just received my passing score on 11-17-2014--yay! I don't want to be "that guy", but I will admit that I barely studied a lick for the exam-- I purchased the materials early on as soon as the 2k14 ones were published but neglected to study them--something about enjoying life outside of work was too attractive compared to studying, even though I had spent the exam fee and paid for the materials. I did watch the two live, 3 hour long webinars before the exam and briefly paged through a few cases. At one point in September (I scheduled it for 10-4-14) I felt so unprepared I emailed the BPS board to see if they would let me withdraw; they wouldn't-- so I ended up taking the exam anyway. By that point, I was so relaxed and had essentially accepted failure that I almost wonder if it helped me to be extra level headed and calm during the exam.. I did not get flustered and would consider myself to be an excellent test-taker in general. I had set passing the BCPS as my professional goal for 2014, and I'm very excited to have achieved that. If you're wondering how I would rate myself as a pharmacist in general, I would say that I'm very passionate about pharmacotherapy and science in general and have no problem applying statistics to real world situations. I worked in corporate retail for a bit over 2 years with Target, and currently work as PIC running an outpatient healthsystem pharmacy. I work about 6-8 hrs a week in the inpatient pharmacy. I did not complete a residency.

The reason i wanted to tell my story was not really to toot my own horn-- that's not very satisfying on the internet, anyway-- but to give hope and encouragement to those pharmacists in a similar position to me who are equivocal about taking the exam. I, of course, do not recommend blowing off studying completely as I did.. I was very down on myself and nervous in late August.

Plus, if I told you not to study, there'd be no market for my 2k14 materials-- both books are in excellent condition and I'll make a great deal! 😛

Congratulations to all who have passed, and good luck next time to those that did not.

Does anyone know when/if they send you a break down of questions correct/missed by domain? A passing score of 500 really doesn't mean much to me in terms of how I really did.

ibhave a pretty good idea what I didn't know but am also generally curious. Won't make a difference though in how I feel about having successfully made it through this exam.

I can guarentee I bombed the policy questions. Could care a less about some of the things they tested on.

Fall 2014 Certification and Recertification Exam Results By Specialty
Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacists (BCACP) – 297 of the 412 candidates were certified
for the first time in Ambulatory Care Pharmacy. (72% passing rate)
Board Certified Nuclear Pharmacists (BCNP) – 5 of 11 candidates were certified for the first time.
(45% passing rate) and 1 of 1 who sat for the recertification exam passed. (100% passing rate)
Board Certified Nutrition Support Pharmacists (BCNSP) – 23 of 43 candidates were certified for the
first time (53% passing rate) and 33 of 36 who sat for the recertification exam passed. (92% passing
rate)
Board Certified Oncology Pharmacists (BCOP) – 147 of the 265 candidates were certified for the first
time (55% passing rate) and 29 of 37 were recertified by examination. (78% passing rate)
Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialists (BCPS) – 1615 of the 2599 candidates were certified
for the first time (62% passing rate) and 164 of 174 passed the recertification examination.(94%
passing rate)
Board Certified Psychiatric Pharmacists (BCPP) – 40 of 68 candidates were certified for the first time
(58% passing rate) and 13 of 16 pharmacists were recertified by examination. (81% passing rate)
