Is it possible to become a tennessee resident after a year of attending University of Tennessee COP. I'm trying to decide if i want to go there or to a private school. The tuition will be the same if i have to pay for out of state for UT for all 4 years, but if i can just pay out of state for the first year and then become a resident, I'll go to UT. Anyone done this before? is it possible?

No it is not possible, not just 1 year at least. From my classmates experience they'll give you a hard time. Individual circumstances are different, you might get luckier but don't count on it so soon, to be realistic. You should call UT enrollment office directly and ask them about it.
