Im really interested in becoming a traveler RT, and would like to know if it looks good for PA school admissions. Ive been an RRT for a yr now doing all areas of the hospital except PICU (not my interest), and would love the oppurtunity to travel, pay off my credit card debt, and get new types of experience. I would be completing an online health science degree as well during the assignment. I would like to know from the practicing PA's on this forum only please. Thanks<Jon

whats the market like for traveling PICU/NICU therapists? I'm about to graduate in a few months and I'm going to work at a children's hospital. I'd be interested in traveling in order to do the same as you... the cost of many PA schools is through the roof. 😱

I'm taking the RRT written on monday, clinical on tuesday... wish me luck :scared:

I was a Perinatal/Pediatric Respiratory Therapist (RRT with specialty certification) before I attended graduate and medical school. I had tons of job offers and loads of travel opportunities (did travel before I started graduate school). While I was in graduate school, I worked as a contract therapist (again, I turned down more shifts than I could work) and was able to work holidays when I was a medical student (great pay for those little extras). I would think that your would be able to work limited holidays as a contract therapist (especially during winter months) and the occasional weekend while you are in school.
