Hello all, long time lurker and hopeful future physical therapist here. It's getting to that fun time of year where applying to schools is just around the corner.

My question to you all is what do you know about Belmont's physical therapy program? I moved to Nashville this past year and would love to attend the university here. How competitive is this program? What were your experiences applying?

I'm nervous about getting into the schools here since I love the city and the people I've meet. Dang it, Nashville... you grew on me.

Any responses are greatly appreciated! 🙂

you won't be singing the same tune about applying a month in lol. I applied to and got an interview there. didn't go because flights were expensive. app process was painless though. i've heard good things!!

I made the decision late to apply to Belmont, so my application got in late. While they couldn't offer me an interview right away, I was a qualified candidate and they held onto my application in case there were spots that became available in the class. Unfortunately I got the letter this past week saying that the class was full.

The big positives to the program:

They have a 100% first time pass rate on the NPTE, so every graduate of Belmont's DPT program has passed the licensure exam on the first try.

A friend of mine went to Belmont for undergrad and always had awesome things to say about the campus and Nashville.

Their PT classrooms are state-of-the-art, and the newest and biggest I've seen anywhere.

The (few) cons:

Cost of living in Nashville is on the higher side, but if you've been living there for a while, I assume you know that.

Tuition is high. $85,000 total for the program I think? It wasn't the most expensive school I applied to, but it was up there.

Hope this helps! I would love to go to school in Nashville. However, I'm taking the cheap, in-state route and will be starting at UK this fall.

Best of luck!

The tuition is the only drawback I've found so far. Does anyone know how competitive the program is? I've read that the average GPA for accepted students in PT is 3.8. A little on the higher side.
