With the way my schedule is set up I could take an AP in any of the Math And Science Classes that are offered. What are the benefits to this later down the road? Will take these AP classes senior year.

They are more in depth and challenging, they are good preparation for college, and you can take a test at the end of the year in AP subjects and potentially test out of the freshman level class in that subject (ex. Taking calc 2 as a freshman instead of calc 1). Some AP classes may even be offered as dual enrollment classes, meaning that they will show up on your college transcript.

Taking the AP version will make entering the college versions of the course a lot easier, it is great experience and will give you an easier chance of making A's in your intro science courses. There is also the part of testing out of those classes, however that is not recommended as many medical schools will not consider those AP credit for chemistry or biology, they usually accept AP credit for math though.
Either way, if you come into a gen chem class knowing the majority of the material before hand you'll have a significantly higher chance of getting an A than if you came into the class with no background.

Even if medical schools do accept AP credit, it's a nice GPA boost to retake all your AP classes.

Also makes for some good review because once you learn the information twice it will be harder to forget it. Or if you're like me and get bored when relearning the same things, you can get ahead of your classes and use upper level biology classes, for example, to use in place of the bio prereq.

This is good so when you take classes in college you won't be so lost like everyone else because the opted out of these courses in high school and they never payed ay attention in school. It helps in the long run, it will become a refresher when you learn it again.

If you're granted AP credit by your college, you can skip the introductory classes, which are usually very large and poorly taught, and take upper division courses as a freshman (which will count towards medical school requirements). One of my friends was able to skip every introductory course offered in math and science and was much happier avoiding the cut-throat environment in some of those courses.

In addition, you can escape the ennui in some of the less rigorous high school courses 🙂

My Pre-Vet teacher says that going into the medical field, you need to take as many AP science and math classes as you can. For example AP Chemistry is good to take in high school because my school's AP Chemistry teacher said that Chemistry classes in college are "weeders". They'll only make room for the people that REALLY want it. She also told us a story that half of her students in her class emailed her about their chemistry classes in college and how it's like a big review to them because they took AP Chemistry in high school.

Taking AP Classes can be useful for Pre-Med. Even if you end up bombing the exam and not getting the credit, you'll still be familiar with most of the material. But they can be challenging, so don't do it if your heart isn't in it.

1. Builds critical thinking skills
2. Builds knowledge

Real world applications! I'm in AP chemistry this year, which allows an intro to organic chem (hopefully), and since my teacher was in a MASH unit in desert storm, now and then he'll give us some problems regarding medicine.
Also in AP statistics, many real world apps, as well as many problems around the medical world.

You also get some experience with super stressful giant cumulative exams. The mastery of these is a beneficial skill in college.
