Okay, this may seem silly because I KNOW that Sophas takes a million years to process applications and earlier is better etc. I saw another post on here though for UCLA which said that actually as long as you submit to Sophas by Dec 1 the app will still be considered. Is this true of Berkeley too?

Bottom line, if I submit my app/get all my materials to Sophas and Berkeley at the end of this week, say Nov 7, will it be a waste of money because I won't make the deadline?

Yeah, if you look at the application checklist thing Berkeley has, it says you just need to e-submit Sophas by then. But they do want all hard copy materials (I guess GRE scores?) postmarked by Nov. 24th. I was flipping out too about the deadline.

Hi,

I talked to the Berkeley's Admission Coordinator and she said follows these instructions:

Both the SOPHAS Application and UC Berkeley Graduate Application may be electronically submitted as late as 11:59pm on December 1, 2009. However, all supporting materials must be postmarked by November 24, 2009.
•
Official GRE and/or TOEFL scores must be reported to the UC Berkeley School of Public Health no later than December 1, 2009.
•
If using the electronic method, your references must submit their Letters of Recommendation to SOPHAS no later than December 1, 2009.
•
If using the paper method, your references must have their Letters of Recommendation postmarked by November 24, 2009 at the latest.
•
Official transcripts sent to SOPHAS must be postmarked by November 24, 2009 at the latest.
• International Applicants only: Official transcripts sent to the UC Berkeley School of Public Health must be postmarked by November 24, 2009.
•
If any components of your application are postmarked after November 24, 2009 or electronically submitted after December 1, 2009, your application will be considered incomplete. Submitting an incomplete application will put you at a disadvantage in the admissions review process.
